Dashing Duchess Book Release: It Happened Under the Mistletoe (Giveaway!)

Greetings Duchesses and Friends,

Today I’m here to celebrate the release of my first holiday story! It’s an e-novella and it’s book #3.5 in my Secret Brides series called It Happened Under the Mistletoe and it comes out on Tuesday 10/29!

It’s the story of Oliver Townsende and Cerian Blake who meet at a holiday house party where hijinks quickly ensue. There’s a sassy Christmas cat, a few fun and saucy holiday parlor games, and some mistletoe-related kissing that will scorch your jingle-bell toe balls right off!

Here’s a bit more about it!

When Oliver Townsende escapes to his friend’s house for a Christmas party, he intends to avoid the hordes of marriage-minded misses who have been dogging his steps in London ever since he inherited a dukedom. He soon learns a bit of Yuletide peace and quiet is too much to ask for. When he encounters Miss Cerian Blake, who’s dodging her own unwanted set of admirers, the two decide to join forces and fake an infatuation to keep their suitors at bay. But when a bough of mistletoe becomes involved, will their Christmastime prank turn into a love to last all seasons?

Available for pre-order now only $1.99!

So, tell me, have you ever been caught under the mistletoe? Do give us all the juicy details. One lucky commenter will win an e-copy of It Happened Under the Mistletoe!

  • Linda:

No. Don’t even have mistletoe where I live! How deprived can one get?

  • Duchess Wendy LaCapra:

Sounds naughty & nice, Duchess Valerie! Sadly, I have no thrilling mistletoe story, but I love reading them.

  • denise:

    of course!

  • Dawn Hand:

I normally keep “mistletoe” hanging in the archway from the living room to the dining room so that any time we change rooms at the same time we get to kiss. ;-)

  • Sandy Kenny:

Nope–not even once. Sad to say, my hubby is not romantic or fanciful (one of the reasons why I read so many awesome books, I guess!).

  • I hang my mistletoe in the archway to the dining room. What can I say? I’m an incredible romantic!

    Your book sounds AWESOME!

  • Connie Fischer:

Since I live in Florida, we don’t see mistletoe. However, back in Virginia, we were able to find it occasionally and it was fun for decorating. I loved to smooch my sweet hubby under the mistletoe. As far as I’m concerned, he’s the only one I want to kiss! I have to admit that I was always concerned about the berries dropping and the children or the furry babies putting them in their mouths. Sorry to take the romance out of my answer but once a Mom, always a Mom! :-)

I’m really looking forward to reading and reviewing this novel, Valerie. It sounds wonderful!

  • Duchess Kate Parker:

Nope. No mistletoe, but I did get engaged on Christmas Day. Does that count?

Congrats on number 3.5. It sounds like fun, Valerie.

  • Her Grace Joanna:

Congrats on the release! It sounds like fun, and who doesn’t love a Christmas story?

  • bn100:

    No, I haven’t

  • Sheryl N:

I have been at parties with mistletoe, but I have avoided it! So no steamy encounters to report.

  • sheryl n:

I have no steamy mistletoe encounters to report. I usually avoid it

  • My boyfriend wrapped my Christmas present with mistletoe as the bow, later we shared hot kisses under the mistletoe.

  • Glenda:

No juicy mistletoe stories in my life.

  • Barbara Elness:

I have been caught under the mistletoe but not for many years. I recall those occasions with fondness though.

  • Anna Randol:

Yay! I can’t wait to read it! I love Christmas Novellas! I haven’t been caught under the mistletoe because I am usually the one doing the catching!

  • Ada:

I have not been caught under the mistletoe…but a girl can hope, right? Love Christmas romances, can”t wait to read this :)

  • Anita H.:

I haven’t been caught either. I actually have never seen real mistletoe, just the plastic, made up ones!

    • Valerie Bowman:

Now that you mention it, Anita, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen REAL mistletoe either.

  • Karen H in NC:

I’m sure at one point in my life it happened to me…but dang me if I can remember the details! I have pre-ordered this book but I would so love to be a lucky winner of a copy!

  • Leigh LaValle:

Sounds too fun, Valerie! I remember my mom would hang mistletoe. Well, the plastic kind, anyway. I was too young to get caught ;)

  • Eileen Dandashi:

Mistletoe? Who needs mistletoe! I’ve been married for 43 years and don’t need props! And if I ever got caught in my previous life, it’s been washed from my brain with the kisses of 43 years!

  • Eileen Dandashi:

Mistletoe? Who needs mistletoe? I’ve been married for 43 years and don’t need such props. And if per chance I WAS caught under mistletoe in my ‘previous’ life, it has been washed away with the pleasure of my husband’s kisses!

  • Jennifer McQuiston:

Woots for Christmas! (And Christmas novellas!) Congrats Valerie, it sounds scrumptious! I also love that you have declared it book 3.5. :)

  • Marcy Shuler:

Sadly, I’ve never been caught under the mistletoe. I need to buy some and hang it all over the house! :D

I’m looking forward to the novella, Valerie.

  • Bettye McKee:

I must be a professional wallflower. No one ever tries to catch me under the mistletoe. However, if it should happen in the future, I’ll send you all the details.

  • Jeanne Miro:

Congratulations to Valerie on today’s release of It Happened Under the Mistletoe! I had pre-ordered as soon as it was available to do so on Amazon and can’t wait to get home from work and grab my Kindle so I can start reading it tonight!

The first time I was caught under the mistletoe was by my husband on Christmas Eve 1969 just before we were married February 7th, 1970 and I love that he’s kept up the “tradition” every year since then!
